This six-color, original cardboard tour poster, constructed as a counter card version with back standee piece still attached, for the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo at the Astrodome, held February 25 through March 8, 1970, depicts the featured performers including Elvis, Charley Pride, Bobby Goldsboro and Buck Owens, and Roy Clark. These were Elvis’ first performances outside of Las Vegas since 1961, and he drew huge crowds, holding two shows a day for three days from February 27 to March 1. The Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo is wildly popular and continues to draw big-name performers and ever-larger crowds to this day. Elvis always seemed to be ahead of his time in the venues he performed, and this bright poster is a testament to that ingenuity and timing. Also included is a ticket stub for the afternoon performance on Sunday, March 1, 1970. The stub measures 1 3/8 by 2 1/4 inches (3.49 x 5.72 cm). The poster measures approximately 22 1/4 by 14 inches (56.51 x 35.56 cm). Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The poster presents with very little wear. The counter card standee piece has never been used. Arguably the finest copy we have seen. Near Mint condition.
