Distributed by United Artists in March 1966, Frankie and Johnny stars Elvis as Johnny, an in-debt riverboat singer caught between his girlfriend’s ire and the redhead that brings luck to his gambling obsession. The offered window card announces “Elvis” with an image of Elvis with arms spread above a riverboat full of festivities and a picture of Frankie in the background with a gun. Window cards were specifically designed with a blank area at the top to accommodate local theaters adding their show times. This example was spared that fate and unusually has retained its blank top. The window card, with its fun graphics, touts, “Frankie and Johnny were lovers...and you’ll love every minute of it” and “ELVIS turns the Land of the Blues Red Hot with 11 Great Songs!” With Elvis literally jumping off the page, this wonderful window card did its job of luring fans into the seats. The window card, measuring 22 by 14 inches (55.88 x 35.56 cm), is stored flat and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The poster exhibits even age-related toning, with one lighter area at the top where a local theater snipe has been removed, leaving two sets of staple holes. The colors are bright and bold. Excellent condition.
