Tending to the daily needs of a superstar like Elvis to ensure that his every wish is granted is no easy feat, but this handmade chart gives us a glimpse into how the many responsibilities of caring for Elvis on a daily basis were divided among his close personal friends and assistants. This flow chart outlines the responsibilities given to those closest to Elvis. The page includes a summary for duties given to Red, Billy, Marty (Foreman), Richard, Joe, Mike, and Jerry in both Memphis and Los Angeles locations. The list of responsibilities includes Marty as foreman tending to personal and financial business, Red as assistant to Elvis and others as needed, Billy to tend to shoes, razor, wardrobe and black kit, Richard looking after vehicles and providing assistance to Marty, Joe with driving and arranging appointments, and various duties for Mike and Jerry. Handwritten at the bottom is the notation that the individual responsibilities are “Effective January 1965.” The extent of duties described for each is quite specific for both locations so it was unlikely anything was missed or overlapped. January 1965 was the month Elvis turned 30 years of age and he was spending a significant period recording music and acting in Hollywood, splitting his time between Memphis, Los Angeles and Hawaii. The flow chart, covering minute details, provides a peek into the intimate particulars of the daily lives of Elvis and his entourage. This period copy, with a blank back, originates from the Marty Lacker collection, measures 9 by 12 inches (22.86 x 30.48 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The sheet is in excellent condition overall with very minor edge wear and light surface marks in the lower right quadrant possibly from pressure on carbon paper once atop the sheet.
