In the Paramount film Roustabout, Elvis plays the role of Charlie Rogers, a motorcycle-riding musician who takes a job with a struggling traveling carnival. In keeping with his own carnival background, Colonel Parker had a flair for developing innovative advertisements and this fringed, hanging satin banner was one of those inventive concepts, evoking memories of carnivals and traveling circuses in its design. The pink-colored satin hanging banner advertises “A Hal Wallis Production / A Paramount Picture Release” starring Barbara Stanwyck and Elvis. On the pink satin and gold-fringed banner, Barbara Stanwyck’s name appears above Elvis’, perhaps for her co-starring role, or perhaps because of her legend as an award-winning actress who by 1944 was the highest-paid woman in America. By the end of her career she was the recipient of multiple awards, including a Golden Globe and an Academy Award, and was ranked the 11th greatest female star of classic American cinema. This clever, carnival-style promotion for a film with a traveling show-themed plot that co-starred two legendary entertainers is an ingenious treasure in itself. The banner measures 16 by 15 inches (40.64 x 38.1 cm) to the edge of the fringe and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The banner exhibits no major defects and presents with extremely bright, bold colors, but does have two creases from being folded, although it has been stored flat for some time. Near Mint condition.
