Roustabout, produced by Hal Wallis and distributed by Paramount Pictures in 1964, starred Elvis as Charlie Rogers, a musician who joins a struggling traveling carnival run by Maggie Morgan, who was played by Barbara Stanwyck. Roustabout finished 28th in the year-end list of top grossing films for 1964, earning just over $3 million at the box office. The soundtrack album from Roustabout was one of Elvis’ most successful, reaching number one on the Billboard album chart. The screenplay for the movie was nominated for an award for Best American Musical from the Writers Guild of America. The movie script evolution includes many stages, and offered is the “final white” version for Roustabout in which all blue or yellow additions, correction, and replacements have been rerun on white paper stock (this copy having a light green tint to the “white” paper). The offered “final white” script pages are contained with two metal fasteners and enclosed in a removable protective plastic cover. The motion picture name is typed at the center of the cover page with “SF 83090 / Wallis-Paramount-Hazen” typed at the top center and “FINAL WHITE / Screenplay by Allan Weiss / February 7, 1964” in the lower left corner. This copy is stamped “101” and has the name “Mal B” handwritten in pencil in the upper right corner. While the script contains no handwritten notes in the text, the cast page does contain the handwritten names next to their character for Cathy Lean (Joan Freeman), Maggie Moore (Barbara Stanwyck), and Madame Mijanou (Sue Ane Langdon). The final white 114-page script measures 11 by 8 1/2 x 1/2 inches (27.94 x 21.59 x 1.27 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The script is in excellent condition overall with minor discoloration to the paper at the fasteners and a fold line where the script opens at the binding. The edges exhibit almost no wear with only very minor folds in the lower right corner.
