This MGM musical comedy picture was released in March 1964 and features Elvis in a double starring role: as dark-haired Air Force lieutenant Josh Morgan, and as his cousin, blond hillbilly Jodie Tatum. Kissin’ Cousins was Elvis’ 14th movie, but as it was filmed after Viva Las Vegas, which went over budget, the Colonel tightened production time and finances. Kissin’ Cousins earned over $3 million at the box office and reached number 26 as the top grossing film of 1964. The offered military issue poster is unique from any other posters created to promote the film. In a sharp departure from the artwork of the standard posters, this one focuses on a scene with Elvis in full military uniform while its headline proclaims, “Elvis is ‘A-Okie’ ... with Mountain Misses - and Air Force Missiles!” The military issued versions usually utilized one- or two-color artwork rather than full-color to reduce the expense. The poster uses bright red and blue, which combined with the poster’s white paper, makes for a patriotic mix. This one-sheet military issue poster, measuring 41 by 27 inches (104.4 x 68.58 cm), has been stored folded and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The poster presents with minor areas of wear and light paper loss at the edges and intersections of the original factory folds. There are two small holes that have been punched at the top of the poster. Excellent condition.
