Directed by Norman Taurog, It Happened at the World’s Fair was a musical comedy starring Elvis in his typical winning formula role. This entertaining adventure tells the story of crop duster Mike Edwards (Elvis) searching for love and adventure while trying to get his plane out of hock thanks to his partner’s gambling debts. The film contains a scene in which Elvis’ character is scheming to win the adoration of his nurse love interest by soliciting a young boy to kick him in the shin. This well-known scene was the debut role of actor Kurt Russell. The offered poster touts “ELVIS SWINGIN HIGHER THAN THE SPACE NEEDLE with the GALS the SONGS and the famous WORLD’S FAIR!” with the headline surrounding Elvis with his guitar, Elvis about to lay one on co-star Joan O’Brien and Seattle’s futuristic space needle. Among a trio of young starlets shown in the poster’s lower left is Yvonne Craig, who was later best known as Batgirl and also appeared in Elvis’ 1964 classic Kissin’ Cousins. Even the young scene-stealing Vicky Tiu makes a cameo on this one sheet. It’s a wonderful example of an early 1960s Elvis poster, both in style and design, boasting strong, vibrant colors and a dominant central image of Elvis and his guitar. The poster measures 41 by 27 inches (104.14 x 68.58 cm), is stored rolled and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The poster exhibits small areas of chipping along the top border, mild edge wear and small areas of paper loss at the intersections of the original factory folds. Excellent to Mint condition.
