The musical comedy Fun in Acapulco starred Elvis Presley and Ursula Andress and was distributed by Paramount in November 1963. It was the top-grossing musical film that year and reached number 5 on Variety’s list of weekly top-grossing films. Partially filmed on site in Mexico in January 1963, all shots of Elvis himself had to be filmed elsewhere since he was not welcome in Mexico after incidents involving his films King Creole and G.I. Blues (Café Europa). Massive fights had broken out at one theatre showing King Creole between pro- and anti-Presley camps. The schism between fans developed in the wake of a fabricated story about Elvis making untoward comments about Mexico. This was Elvis’ final film (and soundtrack) to be released prior to Beatlemania arriving on this continent in full force. The Beatles viewed this film at a drive-in theater in Miami on February 18, 1964 during their first American tour. This large six sheet movie poster has a colorful center image of Elvis waving viewers towards him with the headline “Go With Elvis...To The Fun Place...The One Place...Acapulco!” The poster measures approximately 81 by 81 inches (205.74 by 205.74 cm), when assembled, and is stored folded. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The poster presents with few defects other than some wear near the intersections of the original factory folds. NM condition.
