Viva Las Vegas is considered by many to be one of Elvis’ best films with the famous chemistry between co-stars, the campy storyline, the fast-paced, twisted plot of the film and the upbeat soundtrack making for a fun ride for the audience. Fifteen songs were recorded for the film with nine used; two songs were issued as singles and four were included on the Viva Las Vegas EP. “If You Think I Don’t Need You” was recorded on July 9, 1963 at Radio Recorders in Hollywood on the first part of a three-day recording session that ran from 7 p.m. until after 4 a.m. the following morning. During these sessions, Elvis worked with a larger ensemble of musicians that he ever had before. Offered is an acetate with yellow-and-black Radio Recorders label containing the typed information “7-9-63 / 78 rpm / #2003 take 13 / If You Think I Don’t Need You / time 2:03” on the front and red Audiodisc marks on the reverse. The acetate measures 10 inches (25.4 cm) in diameter and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The record presents in playable condition with only minor scuffs and scratches. Excellent condition.
