The offered MGM acetate contains two of the four takes of “Beyond the Bend” that Elvis Presley recorded at the September 22, 1962, soundtrack session for his film It Happened a the World's Fair. Just audible at the start of each side can be heard the musicians counting in. The acetate's labels list the MGM film's production number of “1802,” a date stamp of “Oct 2 1962” and “Beyond the Bend / Elvis Presley / Take me to the fair.” This of course was one of the working titles of the film. This song would become the first track on the film's soundtrack LP, released in April 1963. The disc measures 12 inches (30.48 cm) in diameter and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated. Condition: VG, one side has a moderately sized scratch that is mostly in the dead wax. Playable condition.
