In this film, released by 20th Century Fox in June 1961, Elvis plays Glenn Tyler, a troubled man from a dysfunctional family who tries sorting out his life by pursuing a literary career. Despite being a dramatic role and one that demonstrated Elvis’ serious acting talent, 20th Century Fox insisted on including four songs in the film. Elvis was never truly able to separate his film and musical careers as he had hoped, because fans wanted the on-screen Elvis they had grown to know and love. These large paper banners would feature silkscreened artwork and abnormally bright, if not downright neon, colors, and this example is no exception. Often referred to as “drive-in banners,” these massive paper promotional posters actually could have been used in any theater lobby. The banner measures approximately 24 by 80 inches (60.96 x 203.2 cm), is stored rolled and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The poster presents with bold, neon colors still beaming and the vast majority of the silkscreened ink still intact. Exemplary condition for a poster notorious for condition issues. Several small tears along the edges. Excellent to Mint condition.
