It’s no coincidence that Elvis’ first film role after completing his military service was G.I. Blues. The popularity of Elvis hadn’t waned while he was away from his adoring fans, and like the Colonel, Hal Wallis was prepared to capitalize on the star’s continued fame. The role made for a perfect return and reached number two on the Variety box office charts and was runner up for a Laurel Award for Top Musical in 1960. Elvis had returned with a vengeance. G.I. Blues is the romping tale of Tulsa McLean (Elvis) being forced into a less-than-chivalrous wager involving the long-legged Lili (Juliet Prowse of L’eggs Pantyhose commercial fame). G.I. Blues’ style of light plot and plenty of music would become the template for most of Elvis’ films in the decade. The poster measures 41 by 27 inches (104.14 x 68.58 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The poster presents with mild to moderate toning, several small areas of paper loss and as many as two dozen pinholes. Very Good to Excellent condition.
