The offered re-release three sheet movie poster for Elvis Presley’s second film, Loving You, presents a dominating image of our star with the message “ELVIS PRESLEY Back on the Screen for the First Time in a Year.” This 1959 version of the poster is a far superior design to the film's original release promotional pieces, and surely enticed movie-going audiences who had been deprived of the star while he served his time in the Army. The top of the poster proclaims “His Greatest Song Smashes! 'Loving You' 'Got a Lot of Livin' to Do' 'Mean Woman Blues' 'Let Me Be Your Teddy Bear' ' Lonesome Cowboy' 'Let's Have a Party' and 'Hot Dog!'” Loving You presents the story of Deke Rivers, a delivery man vaulted into stardom by a publicist and older country-western star. The film was said to have been inspired in part by director and co-writer Hal Kanter witnessing Colonel Tom’s escapades with Elvis on The Louisiana Hayride. It was released by Paramount in July 1957 to box office success with even the movie soundtrack reaching platinum status. The poster, on linen, measures approximately 81 by 41 inches (205.74 by 104.14 cm), is stored rolled and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The poster has been improved by the preservation process of linen backing, with small color touches to the intersections of the original factory folds and small areas of paper loss repair. Apparent Near Mint on linen.
