Loving You was based on the short story “A Call from Mitch Miller,” which was first published in Good Housekeeping in 1956 and partially inspired by director and co-writer Hal Kanter witnessing Colonel Tom’s escapades with Elvis on The Louisiana Hayride. In the film, Elvis stars as Deke Rivers, a delivery boy who is discovered by a talent agent and country singer. The film, a story about a down-to-earth American kid who sings his way to the top, chronicles the adventures of his success on stage and in his love life. The film’s story and this beautiful example of the one-sheet poster capture the spirit of growing legend Elvis Presley. The film was directed by Hal Kanter and released on July 9, 1957, by Paramount Pictures with the single “(Let Me Be Your) Teddy Bear / Loving You” reaching platinum status. The offered poster’s bold graphics and bright color did their job in promoting the film as Elvis dominates the posters center in all his performing glory, surrounded by co-stars (now lower-billed than the young singer) Lizabeth Scott, Wendell Corey and Dolores Hart.  The film achieved box office success. The offered one-sheet poster measures 41 by 27 inches (104.14 x 68.58 cm), is stored rolled and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

While the colors are bright, the poster presents with moderate toning, groups of pinholes at each corner and other areas of the borders and small areas of paper loss at the intersections of the original factory folds. Excellent condition.
