The offered “MGM Air View” 33 1/3 RPM LP was produced to support the promotion of Elvis Presley’s film Jailhouse Rock. The record contains an interview with songwriters Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, the pair that penned the film’s title track. The LP would have been sent to radio stations, where it could then be played with the included commentator asking the questions or with the station’s own DJ asking the questions. It would have had a script for the interview with time codes to insert the local DJ’s reading of the questions. The record has the same interview on both sides both “With Commentary by Dick Simmons” and “Without Commentator.” The labels read “Transcribed Radio Interview with Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller for Jailhouse Rock.” The interview begins with some rather standard questions, but in just a few minutes they delve into the very interesting details of how a songwriting team creates demo records to present to the artist, and how Elvis worked in the studio, controlling the song choices and arrangements for the musicians and backup singers. The distinctive ruby red vinyl is stunning—colored vinyl was in fashion during that period. These types of promotional LPs are scarce by definition, and we have only seen several examples ever offered in the marketplace. The disc measures 12 inches (30.48 cm) in diameter and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The record presents with only one noticeable scratch. Near Mint condition.
