This wonderful collection from 1956 contains over 20 pieces of early Elvis Presley merchandise. Colonel Parker, always looking for ways in which to capitalize on his star, together with Hank Saperstein created a booming merchandising line under the E.P.E. name in 1956, targeting a teenage audience. This was one of the first merchandising efforts specifically geared for the teenage audience and the idea paid off, since fans were clamoring for this rising star. This incredible collection represents a large sample of the range of products produced, including:

Four (4) Elvis Presley gold and black drinking glasses, each marked "Copyright 1956 Elvis Presley Enterprises All Rights Reserved" and depicting a large gold Elvis playing guitar with records around the glass of his famous hits;

One (1) glass ashtray/coaster with a black-and-white head shot of Elvis marked "Copyright 1956 Elvis Presley Enterprises All Rights Reserved";

One (1) 1956 "Love Ya Fuchsia" colored lipstick affixed to original cardboard backing stating "Keep me always on your lips, Elvis Presley" in framed display;

One (1) large size black-and-white gabardine crew hat with six-color images, song title graphics and original 1956 brown white and red tag still affixed;

One (1) 1956 three-ring school binder with zipper featuring bold graphics in black, green and pink on ivory background;

One (1) 1956 Elvis Presley pack of 12 pencils wrapped in cellophane with three orange (blue eraser top), three green (yellow eraser top), three pink (green eraser top), and three yellow (red eraser top). On each pencil is printed "Sincerely Yours, Elvis Presley";

One (1) Elvis Presley green pencil sharpener;

Two (2) wallets, one a photo wallet in "bark" color and the second billfold made for either boys or girls in "saddle" (ivory) color, both marked "©56 Elvis Presley Enterprises All Rights Reserved" on the reverse;

Three (3) Elvis Presley 1956 Dog Tag Anklets on original printed cardboard backings, each bearing Elvis' name, Army identification number and blood type O on the tag. Two are silver-colored and is one gold-colored;

Two (2) Elvis Presley 1956 Dog Tag ladies gold-colored bracelets on original printed cardboard backings;

One (1) 1956 Elvis Presley 24-inch chrome Dog Tag necklace on reproduction printed backing;

One (1) 1956 Elvis Presley "Loving You" gold-colored charm bracelet on original cardboard backing with "Loving You" printed on card;

One (1) Elvis Presley Enterprises overnight case in blue, marked "Copyright 1956 Elvis Presley Enterprises All Rights Reserved" on bottom;

One (1) Framed 1956 Elvis Presley Enterprises black and green belt with brass Elvis Presley belt buckle;

One (1) 1956 Elvis Presley Enterprises merchandising guide poster featuring 1956 items, including the belt, lipstick, charm bracelet, billfold, crew hat, and sneakers, examples of which are offered in this collection along with this poster.

A merchandise assortment like the one being offered is unique and will make an extraordinary start or addition to any Elvis collection. Also included are six (6) toy bracelet watches made in Japan. These bracelet watches, with colored elastic band and paper face, are unmarked but believed to be circa 1956, possibly from the U.K. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated. The artifacts range in size with the largest being the belt, for which the frame size measures approximately 13 by 46 by 2 1/2 inches (33.02 x 116.84 x 6.35 cm). The poster in its framed display measures approximately 24 by 33 by 1 inch (60.96 x 83.82 x 2.54 cm).

The entire collection is in excellent condition overall with typical signs of slight wear and age. Of note, the interior top of the overnight case has dark glue residue and paper loss; the binder shows signs of wear on the exterior from handling; one of the bracelets and one of the anklets have patina and discoloration with the original card backings in various conditions, some excellent, others slightly discolored and one with a side stain; and the watch bracelets have minor corrosion on the metal surface. The belt has been affixed to foam core for display in the frame. All merchandise not specifically mentioned is in very good to excellent condition overall.
