This “Treasured Memories” graduation record book, copyright 1951, belonged to Ellen Therese Martini Goodbread, who graduated Bishop Kennedy High in Jacksonville, Florida on June 1, 1956. The memory book was intended to record important particulars of the big day, and included pages to insert your “Pal’s cards” and pages to record “Mad Moments,” “Teachers,” and “What’s Next.” Red West has signed the last page and Elvis Presley has signed and inscribed the back cover in blue ink “To Ellen, Elvis Presley.” A pencil heart has been drawn around his signature. The hard stock paper cover booklet has a gold cover title and treasure chest and blue interior pages. It comes with a business card from Ellen Tanno on which is handwritten, “Autograph: 1956 in Jacksonville Fla, the same day he was released from hospital. Was appearing at Gator house and fainted - exhaustion. (over) His friend ‘Red West’ signed on the inside page. First Green page in rear of book.” This personal memento from Ellen’s high school graduation with the signature of her heartthrob measures 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 inches (21.59 x 13.97 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.
The booklet is in well loved condition with foxing and discoloration on the covers. The interior pages are in good condition overall with some of the graduation name cards coming loose. Elvis’ signature is strong and bold.
