In 1956, when RCA Victor offered an Elvis “signature series” model portable record player to commemorate its contract with Elvis and his hit recording “Blue Suede Shoes,” it also offered an Elvis multi-speed player, model 7-EP-2. This model was contained in a blue-and-white plaid case with dark blue top and bottom. On the dark blue top of the case appeared an Elvis Presley signature. The interior was white, with a blue turntable and tone arm, and white dials for volume, treble and bass controls. The multi-speed selector included 78, 45, 33 1/3 and 16. The case had a white RCA Victor logo on the front, and a white plastic carrying handle. The interior lid displayed the Victrola “His Master’s Voice” logo and a gold sticker with Model 7-EP-2 and serial number listed. The portability of these record players made it easy to listen to your favorite Elvis songs anywhere you went, and now you can enjoy that convenience for yourself with the offered model 7-EP-2 record player. Also included is a period newspaper ad for the record players with the headline that reads “Elvis Presley says: Now you get a brand-new record album of songs recorded for RCA Victor when you buy one of my new Autograph Victrolas!” A photocopy of the original instruction manual is also included. The record player measures approximately 6 by 13 by 11 inches (15.24 x 33.02 x 27.94 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The player presents intact, with its 45 insert and soft finish on the turntable. There are moderate scuffs, stains and nicks on the exterior, including some crayon marks and mild water stains. The interior presents with mild stained areas and mild oxidation on the turntable. The serial number label is partially worn away. Overall very good condition.
