In 1956 as Elvis’ career was hitting the fast track, Colonel Parker partnered with Hank Saperstein to create a merchandising machine that would bring the superstar into the home and hearts of every youngster around the nation. Elvis Presley Enterprises placed Elvis’ image on everything from clothing and jewelry to toys, shoes, lipstick and so much more. This was a stroke of marketing genius by not only giving fans what they craved, but in turn the fans themselves were advertising their favorite musician by more than just listing to his tunes. Offered is a 1956 Elvis Presley Enterprises merchandising guide poster featuring 1956 items, including the belt, lipstick, charm bracelet, billfold, crew hat, sneakers, and all the rest. The poster encourages distributors with images, prices, manufacturers and the recommendation, “Each of the smart promotional-minded creators of the items described on these two pages provides advertising help to your local retailer. Make certain that your date is included in a co-operative advertising. GIVE YOUR DEALERS ‘LOVE ME TENDER’ IMPRINTED ACCESSORIES FOR THEIR WINDOW AND IN-STORE DISPLAYS.” This period black-and-white poster measures 16 by 26 inches (40.64 x 66.04 cm), is stored rolled, and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.
