Colonel Parker was always looking for ways in which to capitalize on his star, so together with Hank Saperstein he created a booming merchandising line under the E.P.E. name in 1956, targeting a teenage audience. This was one of the first merchandising efforts specifically geared for the teenage audience and the idea paid off, since fans were clamoring for this rising star. One of the many items designed for distribution to this target audience is the offered large size black-and-white gabardine crew hat with color images, song title graphics and white and blue size tag still affixed. The hat comes with the original advertising promotional poster specifically for the hat with large red and black letters that shout, “Gals! Guys! Here it is! Elvis Presley Hat $1.25” with an image of Elvis donning this style hat. The lower right contains the trademark information, “Manufactured Exclusively by Magnet Hat & Cap Corp / 1956 Elvis Presley Enterprises All Rights Reserved.” This perfect combination of an original hat together with the original poster is a rare survivor. The poster measures 9 by 17 inches (22.86 x 43.18 cm) and is accompanied by a letter of authenticity from Graceland Authenticated.

The poster is free from defects. Near Mint condition. The hat remains supple with bright colors. Excellent to Mint condition.
